Thermology 2007 – a computer-assisted literature survey

Summary

The literature survey 2007 is restricted to 209 papers found in the databases MEDLINE and EMBASE with the keyword “thermography”, 107 abstracts from Thermology Conferences completed the reference list of this survey. About 60 percent of author of publications on thermolgraphy are originated from Europe and 96,5 percent of all papers are written in English. 46 controlled studies using thermography were reported. Intravascular temperature measurements, thermography as a method for monitoring in surgery and neurology were identified as the predominant fields of applications in medicine. A number of papers confirmed the increased awareness of the value of thermography in veterinary medicine. Outside of medicine and biology, numerous reports of thermographic applications were found in chemistry.

THERMOLOGIE 2007 – EINE COMPUTER-GESTÜTZTE LITERATUR SUCHE

Die Literatursuche für 2007 beschränkt sich auf 209 Arbeiten, die unter dem Schlüsselwort “Thermography” in den Datenbanken MEDLINE und EMBASE gefunden wurden. 107 Kurzfassungen von thermologischen Kongressen ergänzen die Literaturliste dieser Übersicht. Die Autoren thermologischer Publikationen kommen in etwa 60 Prozent aus Europa, und 96,5 Prozent aller Arbeiten wurden in Englisch publiziert,. 46 kontrollierte Studien berichteten den Einsatz von Thermographie. In der Medizin waren die intravaskuläre Temperaturmessung und die Thermographie als Methode für das Monitoring in der Chirurgie und der Neurologie die vorherrschenden Anwendungsgebiete. Viele Arbeiten bestätigten, dass Thermographie zunehmend als wertvolle Methode in der Veterinärmedizin wahrgenommen wird. Außerhalb der Anwendungsgebiete Medizin und Biologie wurden zahlreiche Berichte über den Einsatz der Thermographie in der Chemie gefunden.
